Press Release Capacity Building and Employability Skills Training for Minority Youth Concludes Successfully at Hotel City Centre, Abbottabad. (October 21-26, 2024) Abbottabad – The Department of Minority Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, successfully completed 14th Training of the second phase of the “Capacity Building and Employability Skills Training Program,” with the latest session held at Hotel City Centre, Abbottabad. This ADP Program project brought together young men and women from minority communities, including Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and others, for a six-day training aimed at equipping them with essential professional skills. Esteemed dignitaries graced the closing ceremony, including Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam, Commissioner Hazara Division; Mr. Manzoor Masih, Member of the National Commission for Human Rights for Minorities; Mr. Nadeem Akhtar, Deputy Secretary, Minority Affairs Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; and Mian Asjad Hassan, Monitoring Officer (Social), Minority Affairs Department. The final day’s training was led by Ms. Maryam Bakhtawar, Assistant Commissioner, Mandharn Buner, who conducted a session on competitive exams, particularly CSS and PMS, to inspire and guide aspiring candidates. The training, implemented by the consulting partner Liaison Corporation (Pvt) Ltd., provided participants with a comprehensive program covering communication skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, CV writing, interview techniques, career counseling and competitive exam preparation. The consulting partner ensured optimal arrangements for the participants, trainers, and staff, providing quality accommodations, dining, and training facilities to create a conducive learning environment. Addressing the participants, Deputy Secretary Nadeem Akhtar highlighted the department’s ongoing commitment to supporting the professional growth and empowerment of minority youth through initiatives such as training programs, grants, and scholarships. He emphasized that such initiatives play a pivotal role in enabling minority youth to develop employability skills, effective communication techniques, and confidence to thrive in their respective careers. Commissioner Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam Shah commended the Minority Affairs Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for its dedication to the empowerment of minority communities. Mr. Manzoor Masih, Member Minorities National Commission for the Human Rights praised the program’s impact and shared his intent to advocate for similar initiatives in other provinces, promoting skills development for minorities across Pakistan.
